First off, thank you for stopping by my design blog. My name is Brandon Niehaus, living and working in Cincinnati, Ohio. I've been a professional graphic designer for over four years, working mainly on package design in my 9-to-5. Bowling Green State University in northern Ohio was my home and school for five years. I don't miss the cold and the wind and what felt like eight months of winter but it was a great experience. After that 18th street in Pilsen, Chicago was where I called home for about seven months. The L-train was/is a great way to get around the city, I miss it. Living now in Northside Cincinnati for four years, I've developed a sense of community; writing for the local paper and walking to the restaurants and bars and business surrounding my house to support local businesses; and there are more on the way! My girlfriend says I'll be the mayor of Northside someday, I'm not sure about that but it would make for a cool nickname; Mayor. My girlfriend lives with me and brought with her a cat named Ruki. Rousey, my mutt is dealing with the animal addition really well, as am I. Though, I do like the additional human living in my house more than the cat. Just sayin!
So the purpose of this blog is to showcase conceptual work I've developed and showcase inspirational finds that I come across. At this point one mainstay will be pictures of vintage logos, type, and graphics I find in antique malls or even garage sales. More things may come up and be posted but as of now those are the concepts. We shall see what the future holds.
Onward, to design!
